The Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has officially launched its Income Tax Assistance Programme 2025, offering targeted support to taxpayers required to file returns for the 2024 tax year. The programme commenced on Sunday, 6 April, and will continue until 15 June 2025.
According to MIRA, the initiative is designed to assist individuals and businesses with a total income of less than MVR 10 million in completing their income tax reports. The support is especially tailored for those who prepare their financial statements on a cash basis and require help with filing.
Assistance will be provided via telephone, email, and other online communication platforms. Taxpayers can reach out to MIRA through its hotline 1415, the live chat service on its official website, or by emailing engagement@mira.gov.mv. Queries can also be sent via Viber to 9821415.
In addition to direct support, MIRA has developed a dedicated online tool to help taxpayers determine whether they are required to submit an income tax return for 2024.
The programme aims to ease the administrative burden on lower-income earners and small-scale businesses as they navigate their annual tax obligations.
