Addu City Council Opens Bidding for Tourist Facility on Savaahili Island

The Addu City Council has launched an invitation for bids to develop a tourist facility on Savaahili Island, offering both local and foreign investors the opportunity to play a part in expanding the southernmost atoll’s tourism sector. The proposed development spans over 79,000 square metres of land and includes a dedicated lagoon area.

According to the council, the envisioned project is aimed at supporting the broader tourism ecosystem in Addu, including resorts, guest houses, hotels, and other tourism-related service providers. The investment must incorporate a range of key features, including a minimum of 10 guest rooms, a restaurant, a bar, recreational facilities, a water sports centre, a spa and wellness centre, and a communal swimming pool.
