Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa donated mattresses worth MVR 85,118.40 yesterday to the Fiyavathi Orphanage in Hulhumalé, as part of its community outreach and corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme.
General Manager Greg Allan handed over the donation, highlighting the resort’s commitment to supporting the well-being of children in need.
Fiyavathi Orphanage, a government-operated facility, provides shelter, education, and care for orphaned and vulnerable children across the Maldives. The donated mattresses aim to enhance the comfort and overall quality of life for the children living at the institution.
According to the Maldives Bureau of Statistics, approximately two % of Maldivian children live without either parent.
Regarding the initiative, Allan said he believes that hospitality extends beyond their resort.
“At Sheraton Maldives, we believe that true hospitality extends beyond our resort. This donation is a reflection of our dedication to the local community and our hope to contribute positively to the daily lives of these children,” said Greg Allan.
This donation forms part of the resort’s broader CSR initiatives, which include sustainability projects, educational outreach, and charitable contributions. Through such efforts, Sheraton Maldives aims to leave a lasting and positive impact throughout the region.
