Ooredoo Maldives Launches Samsung eSIM Wearables, a First for the Country

Ooredoo Maldives has become the first operator in the country to introduce Samsung eSIM-enabled smartwatches, allowing users to make calls, stream music, send messages, and access apps directly from their wearable devices without needing to keep their phone nearby.

The service is currently available for Samsung Watch Ultra 7 LTE models configured for the Maldives region. It enables a higher level of mobile freedom and supports a growing demand for devices that integrate connectivity, health monitoring, and productivity tools on the go.

Samsung’s regional leadership also expressed confidence in the collaboration, highlighting that the partnership brings cutting-edge wearable innovation to local users and reflects a continued push to enhance digital lifestyles in the Maldives.

The eSIM service is available to all mobile customers, both prepaid and postpaid. It will be offered free of charge for the first three months, after which it will be charged at MVR 199 per month.

Ooredoo Maldives’ latest service introduction is expected to appeal to tech-savvy users who prefer compact, always-on connectivity and are looking to reduce dependency on traditional smartphones while staying linked to calls, apps, and notifications.
