The Maldives has taken part in the tri-nation ‘China-Sri Lanka-Maldives Tourism Forum’, aimed at promoting tourism and fostering greater collaboration among industry stakeholders from the three countries.
The Ministry of Tourism and Environment, along with the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), represented the Maldives at the forum. The event brought together over 100 participants, including government officials, tourism and aviation sector representatives, as well as experts and scholars.
Held in Colombo, Sri Lanka, the week-long forum opened on Monday and focused on strengthening tripartite cooperation in the tourism sector. Discussions centred on cultural tourism, joint promotional strategies, and enhancing connectivity and partnerships among China, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives.
In addition to strategic dialogue, the forum included a series of seminars, promotional presentations, and business negotiations, providing a platform for networking and exchange of ideas among tourism professionals.
The forum was co-hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism of Sri Lanka, the Ministry of Tourism and Environment of the Maldives, the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka, and the Chinese Embassy in the Maldives.
