Ooredoo Maldives has introduced its 2026 calendar with a cultural focus that centres on tea as a shared social ritual, using everyday moments rather than corporate milestones to frame its annual theme.
Titled “Tea with Ooredoo”, the calendar draws on the role tea plays in Maldivian households as a pause within daily routines and a point of connection across generations. Rather than presenting tea as a lifestyle concept, the calendar positions it as a familiar and understated part of social life, reflecting how informal invitations to share tea often serve as moments of conversation and reconnection.
The calendar is structured around a monthly series of tea blends inspired by locally enjoyed flavours, including fruits, flowers, and herbs found across the Maldives. Each month is visually linked to a specific blend, with the intention of grounding the design in recognisable tastes and ingredients rather than abstract themes.
Speaking on the concept behind the calendar, Ooredoo Maldives Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Khalid Al-Hamadi said: “At Ooredoo Maldives, we believe that connection is not just about technology, but about people and moments that bring us closer. Tea is one of the simplest yet most meaningful traditions in Maldivian life. Through our 2026 calendar, we wanted to celebrate this everyday moment and reflect our purpose of enriching lives by connecting people in ways that truly matter.”
For 2026, Ooredoo has expanded the format of the calendar beyond its traditional wall edition. A desk calendar and a digital version have been introduced, allowing the theme to be experienced across physical and digital spaces. The desk calendar includes specially formulated tea blends intended for daily use, adding a practical dimension to the concept rather than limiting it to visual presentation.
The digital calendar is available online, extending the reach of the visuals beyond printed formats and allowing customers to engage with the content throughout the year on screens and devices.
Ooredoo said it hopes the calendar becomes part of daily routines in homes and workplaces, reinforcing a sense of familiarity and togetherness rather than serving solely as a branded artefact.
