A new partnership between Ooredoo Maldives and global e-commerce platform Temu will provide selected customers with access to discount bundles for online shopping in the lead-up to Ramadan, reflecting the growing role of digital platforms in household consumption.
Under the arrangement, eligible Ooredoo customers who complete transactions through the Ooredoo App will receive a bundle of discount coupons that can be redeemed on the Temu App. Ooredoo stated that the offer is available to the first 50,000 existing and new customers who spend MVR 100 through the Ooredoo App, with eligibility requirements applying. This includes prepaid, postpaid, SuperNet, Faseyha and AirFibre customers for recharges, bill payments, add-on purchases, pack activations and other services, Ooredoo Maldives said.
The initiative is positioned around Ramadan-related spending, with discounts applicable across a wide range of product categories available on Temu, including household items, lifestyle products, electronics, gifts, and home décor. The collaboration aligns with increasing reliance on online shopping channels as consumers seek convenience and price advantages.
According to Hussain Niyaz, the partnership is intended to enhance the value of Ooredoo’s digital services by integrating lifestyle benefits into its mobile ecosystem. He said the collaboration responds to rising interest in online shopping and is part of broader efforts to expand customer-facing digital services.
The partnership also reflects wider trends in the Maldives toward app-based services and digital commerce, as telecommunications providers increasingly explore tie-ups beyond core connectivity offerings. By linking mobile transactions with e-commerce incentives, the collaboration aims to strengthen engagement within the digital economy.
