Ibrahim Ziyath Steps Down as MPL Deputy CEO

Ibrahim Ziyath has resigned from his position as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Maldives Ports Limited, following recent changes to the senior leadership structure of the state-owned ports operator.

The reason for his resignation has not been made public.

Ziyath was appointed Deputy CEO of MPL on 16 March. He was also appointed to the company’s board as an executive director. However, on 1 May, he was removed from the board and replaced by Mohamed Lamman, who had also been appointed as a Deputy CEO of the company.

Ziyath holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration and previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Maldives Transport and Contracting Company during the administration of former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom. He also worked at State Trading Organization for 15 years.

Following Ziyath’s resignation, MPL continues to have three Deputy CEOs: Mohamed Lamman, Mohamed Mueen and Ali Hashim.
