
The Maldives and Belgium have reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close cooperation following a farewell meeting between Foreign Minister Iruthisham Adam met the outgoing Non-Resident Ambassador of Belgium to the Maldives, Didier Vanderhasselt, to discuss bilateral relations and future collaboration.
During the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Iruthisham expressed appreciation for Ambassador Vanderhasselt’s service and his contributions to strengthening relations between the two countries during his tenure.
The discussions focused on opportunities to further enhance cooperation in areas of mutual interest. Both sides also reiterated the importance of continued collaboration in international forums.
Minister Iruthisham highlighted the Maldives’ commitment to deepening its longstanding friendship and cooperation with Belgium. She extended her best wishes to Ambassador Vanderhasselt in his future endeavours and conveyed support for the incoming Non-Resident Ambassador of Belgium.
The meeting reflected the continued engagement between the Maldives and Belgium as the two countries seek to build on existing ties and cooperation across diplomatic and multilateral platforms.
