The Maldives Monetary Authority will host the Maldives Financial Expo 2026 at Hulhumalé Central Park from 2 to 4 July, bringing together the country’s financial sector in one venue for the first time in nine years.
Open to the public daily from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., the three-day exhibition is aimed at improving financial literacy, promoting financial inclusion and showcasing new products and innovations shaping the future of finance in the Maldives.
Held under the theme “Empowering Sustainable Futures: Inclusion, Innovation, and Intelligence,” the expo will feature commercial banks, insurance companies, finance providers, regulatory authorities and government agencies. The event will give members of the public direct access to institutions that shape the country’s financial landscape.
For many Maldivians, navigating financial services, from opening savings accounts and applying for business financing to purchasing insurance or adopting digital payment solutions, often requires information from multiple sources. The expo aims to simplify that process by gathering the financial ecosystem in one accessible location.
Visitors will be able to meet representatives from participating institutions, compare services, learn about new products and receive practical guidance from industry professionals. Organisers have described the event as an interactive learning experience rather than a conventional exhibition.
In addition to public engagement, invitation-only panel discussions for industry professionals and policymakers are scheduled for 2 and 4 July. These discussions will focus on emerging trends and the future of financial services in the Maldives.
Families attending the expo will also have access to entertainment alongside financial education. Live music, lucky draws, games and food and beverage stalls from local small businesses will be available across all three evenings. A dedicated Children’s Evening will be held on Friday, 3 July, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with educational activities designed to introduce young visitors to basic financial concepts.
The 2026 expo builds on two previous editions. The 2015 event attracted approximately 2,500 visitors, while the 2017 edition, which focused on housing finance, drew more than 6,000 participants. This year’s event expands the scope of the expo, reflecting the diversification of the Maldivian financial market over the past decade.
The Maldives Financial Expo 2026 is free and open to the public. Hulhumalé Central Park is accessible by ferry from Malé.
