Addu City welcomed the first cruise liner to the city this year, with 84 tourists and 81 crew members.
MS Island Sky, sailing under the Bahamas flag, arrived at Hithadhoo, Addu City, from Seychelles. Maldives Immigration confirmed that all tourists and crew members aboard the vessel were cleared to enter the Maldives.
The cruise liner is carrying tourists from Europe, the majority of whom are British nationals. During its visit to the Maldives, Island Sky is also scheduled to dock at Uligamu in Haa Alifu Atoll and Makunudhoo in Haa Dhaalu Atoll.
This marks the third cruise liner arrival to the Maldives this year. Earlier, the i2 cruise liner arrived in Malé City last year. A total of 1,056 tourists have arrived in the Maldives on the two cruise liners.
Cruise liners visit the Maldives periodically, with passengers typically disembarking to visit islands and local destinations during their stay.
