Air Arabia will increase its service between Sharjah and Malé to twice daily non-stop flights starting 27 October 2025, marking one year since the airline began operating the route.

According to the airline, the decision to expand frequency is in response to growing travel demand to the Maldives. The move is expected to provide greater flexibility and connectivity between the United Arab Emirates and the island nation.

The route between Sharjah International Airport and Velana International Airport currently operates once daily. With the change, Air Arabia joins several other international airlines that have expanded services to the Maldives amid a surge in tourist arrivals in 2025.

The Maldives has already welcomed over one million tourists this year. The government is aiming to reach a target of 2.3 million arrivals by the end of 2025.
