Air France will be operating the new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner for Maldives sector during winter 2018/19 season.
From 01st November 2018 onwards, the two weekly Paris Charles de Gaulle – Male flights will be operated by the new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, replacing 777-200ER. Starting 10 December 2018, the Skyteam member will introduce 3rd weekly rotation, operating on Mondays from Paris, Tuesdays from Male.
The Boeing 787-9 can fly more passengers and cargo farther, with 290 passengers over 14,140 km, yet with the same 20 percent better fuel and emissions, allowing airlines to grow routes first opened by the 787-8.
The 787 cabin is wider than that of the airplanes it replaces, so passengers enjoy more personal space, both physically and visually. With the largest windows on any jet, the windows also dim at the touch of a button, allowing passengers to look outside when they wish and still maintain a dimmed cabin when appropriate.
The maiden Air France flight AF 222 departed Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport on Wednesday, November 1st, 2017 at 8:52 PM and arrived at Male’- Velana International Airport at 10:48 am on the 2nd of November 2017 with a total flying time of 9 hours 56 minutes.
