The Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives, Her Excellency Aishath Shaan Shakir, presented her Letter of Credence to the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, His Excellency Frank-Walter Steinmeier at the official ceremony held this morning with military honors at the Presidential Palace, Schloss Bellevue.
During the private audience, President Steinmeier welcomed Ambassador Shaan to Germany and congratulated her on assumption of her duties as the Ambassador of Maldives to Germany. Ambassador Shaan expressed appreciation for the warm welcome and conveyed greetings from His Excellency President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and the people of the Republic of Maldives to President Steinmeier and the People of Germany. Both Ambassador Shaan and President Steinmeier also reiterated their commitment to further strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries.
Ambassador Shaan was accompanied by Deputy Ambassador Mohamed Jinah, Counsellor Umaira Mohamed and Third Secretary Mohamed Fazeel Hussain of the Embassy of Maldives in Germany.
