Corporate Maldives Wraps Up Bizweek with High-Level Engagements and Strategic Networking

Corporate Maldives officially concluded the inaugural edition of Bizweek 2025 this evening following a successful two-day programme that included curated Network Meetings, insightful speaking engagements, and a landmark CEO Summit.

Bizweek 2025 marks the launch of the Maldives’ first dedicated forum for meaningful dialogue, cross-sector collaboration, and business development. Coinciding with the event, Corporate Maldives introduced a new app and website to enhance digital access to business intelligence, real-time updates, and networking tools for professionals nationwide.

Day One Highlights: CEO Summit

The week kicked off with the inaugural CEO Summit at JEN Maldives Malé by Shangri-La. The summit featured a high-level panel discussion with prominent leaders including:

  • Dr Abdulla Muththalib, Minister of Construction, Housing & Infrastructure
  • Ismail Rasheed, CEO and Managing Director, Dhiraagu
  • Mariyam Visam, Chief Commercial Officer, First National
  • Khalid Al-Hamadi, CEO and Managing Director, Ooredoo Maldives
  • Moosa Nimal, Chief Business Officer, Bank of Maldives

Drawing on their collective expertise across critical sectors, the panellists explored strategic approaches to pressing national issues such as energy, food security, healthcare, education, tourism diversification, finance and investment, urban development, and governance. Their insights guided interactive roundtable discussions that generated actionable recommendations for building a more inclusive and resilient Maldivian economy.

Network Meetings

The Network Meetings featured a full day of curated one-on-one sessions aimed at fostering strategic partnerships, enhancing visibility, and supporting the growth of Maldivian businesses across diverse sectors. Held from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM today, these meetings were exclusively available to registered attendees and provided a valuable platform to connect directly with potential clients, investors, and collaborators.

 Expert-Led Speaking Sessions

The expert-led speaking sessions featured a series of insightful presentations that explored key themes shaping the business landscape in the Maldives and beyond. Ali Farish Khaleel, Head of Business and SME Banking at Bank of Maldives, opened with a session on transporting business and financing solutions, offering practical insights into supporting enterprise growth. Ismail Mizyan Naeem, Research Analyst at First National Finance Corporation, followed with an overview of risks and returns in the Maldives capital markets, shedding light on investment behaviour and market trends.

Tolga Unan, CEO of Unan Trading and Managing Director of Unan Hospitality, examined global consumer trends in the food and beverage industry, offering a macro-level view of changing preferences and demands. F&B Consultant Maha Naseer presented on food safety as a strategic imperative, emphasising its role in maintaining consumer trust and regulatory compliance.

Tax lawyers Zaif Fazal and Aminath Naifa from QVL delivered a dedicated session on tax strategies for businesses, outlining practical approaches to navigating the local tax framework while ensuring long-term financial planning.

Aminath Maastha, Director of Sales and Marketing at Open Sky Group, gave a standalone presentation introducing the company’s operations, service offerings, and its evolving role in the logistics sector. The sessions concluded with an engaging contribution from Minha Faiz Rashaad, Ishana Waled, and Aishath Niha, who represented Women in Management Maldives. Their talk focused on the importance of leadership, empowerment, and increasing the visibility of women in the business world.
