The latest weekly COVID-19 spending report released by the Ministry of Finance reveals that a total of MVR 3,925.1 million has been spent so far by the government for pandemic-related response efforts. This includes health and social efforts, as well as economic response efforts.
As of 21 October 2021, total spending towards COVID-19 health and social efforts stood at MVR 2,151.8 million; 0.2% increase from the week before. In this review period, 32.8% of total health and social spending was committed-spending.
In terms of week-on-week spending, Ministry of Health registered the highest spending compared to its peers. The spending was mainly on operational service. The next significant spending was by National Disaster Management Authority on Supplies and Requisities for service Provision. Over the review period, other agencies only reported small incremental changes in their spending.
As of 21 October 2021, total disbursements made to ERP schemes stood at MVR 1,773.3 million; Unchanged from week before.
