The Dhiraagu 3X3 Challenge basketball tournament concluded successfully following an intense week of competition that brought together over 400 players. Held from 13 to 19 March at the Social Center outdoor court, the event attracted 103 teams, highlighting the growing enthusiasm for basketball in the Maldives.
Organised by the Titans Basketball Academy, the tournament provided a platform for young athletes to demonstrate their skills while fostering teamwork and sportsmanship. Divided into six age groups for both boys and girls, the competition ensured fair matchups and exciting encounters across categories.
In the girls’ division, the Dreamers claimed victory in the under-8 category, while the Air Ballers took the under-10 title. The Warriors emerged victorious in the under-12 group, with the Falcons winning the under-14 category. Aajeelakah triumphed in the under-16 division, and the Leopards secured the top spot in the under-19 category.
In the boys’ division, the Hotweelers won the under-8 category, followed by Blaze in the under-10 group. Bugs Bunny BC took the under-12 title, while the Bloom Squad emerged as the under-14 champions. The Falcons claimed victory in the under-16 group, and Goat SC dominated the under-19 category.
Dhiraagu reaffirmed its commitment to promoting active lifestyles and supporting sports development in the Maldives, with a particular focus on encouraging youth participation in basketball.
