Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race 2025 to Begin Friday with Over 4,500 Runners

The Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race (DMRR) 2025 is scheduled to take place this Friday, 24 October, at Hulhumale’ Central Park, with more than 4,500 runners expected to participate, including both local and international entrants.

Recognised as the largest running event in the country, DMRR is listed on the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) World Running calendar and follows a World Athletics-certified route.

The half marathon will begin at 2:30 hrs, followed by the 10K race at 5:30 hrs and the 5K race at 16:30 hrs. Alongside the main races, the event will include food stalls, entertainment, and a surprise activity along the 5K route.

As in previous years, DMRR 2025 is dedicated to promoting child protection. The event provides a platform for NGOs to advocate for children’s rights and raise funds for related projects. Dhiraagu will contribute MVR 200,000 to five endorsed NGOs nominated by participants, while MVR 100 from each registration and proceeds from special bib number sales will also be distributed among these organisations.
