Thirteen athletes from the National Special Olympic Swimming Squad and one swimmer from the Paralympic Swimming Team also competed.

Dhiraagu noted that a highlight of the day was the appearance of world-renowned endurance swimmer Adam Walker, who inspired participants with motivational insights and personal stories from his extraordinary career. His engagement with young swimmers provided an invaluable boost to aspiring athletes looking to pursue their passion in competitive swimming.

The competition featured two main race categories tailored to different age groups and skill levels. The 1 KM competitive swim followed a 500M out-and-back route along the Malé seawall. Meanwhile, the non-competitive 250M category catered to children under 10 and beginners developing their open water swimming skills.

The event not only celebrated physical endurance and sportsmanship but also aimed to raise awareness about the importance of preserving the Maldivian marine environment. Dhiraagu reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives that promote community well-being, inclusivity, and environmental stewardship.
