Dhiraagu has signed on as the Digital Partner for this year’s Eid Baibalaa Challenge 1446, an annual tournament that remains one of the Maldives’ most spirited Eid traditions. Organised by the Baibalaa Association of Maldives, the event kicked off on 1 April 2025 and will run through 6 April at Central Park in Hulhumalé.
The tournament has drawn teams from across the country, with clubs competing in high-energy matches that celebrate a sport deeply embedded in local culture. With thousands of spectators expected to attend, the challenge continues to be a key highlight of the Eid holidays.
Baibalaa, a traditional contact sport popular in the Maldives, combines physical agility, strategy, and teamwork. Events such as this not only honour the country’s sporting heritage but also offer a platform to promote health and community spirit.
In a statement issued on 3 April, Dhiraagu expressed its support for initiatives that contribute to the well-being of the Maldivian community. The company said its continued involvement in events like the Eid Baibalaa Challenge reflects its commitment to promoting a more active and engaged society.
The partnership further strengthens Dhiraagu’s presence in national sports and community initiatives, highlighting the role of corporate sponsors in sustaining and elevating traditional events in the modern era.
