Dhiraagu has signed on as the Digital Partner for the 1st Thoddoo Masters Table Tennis Tournament, marking a significant milestone in the Maldives’ sporting landscape. Scheduled to take place from 19 to 25 August 2025 in AA. Thoddoo, the tournament will be the first international Masters table tennis event hosted in the country.
The event is being jointly organised by the Thoddoo Local Authority Company Ltd. (TLAC) and the Ihaa Table Tennis Academy (ITTA). According to Dhiraagu, this tournament will bring together over 130 athletes from more than 20 countries, including Germany, China, Spain, India, the UK, and the USA. Open to players aged 35 and above, the tournament is expected to not only raise the profile of table tennis in the Maldives but also contribute to local economic and social development.
Dhiraagu’s Director of Brand and Marketing Communications, Mohamed Mirshan Hassan, expressed pride in supporting the tournament, emphasising that the initiative reflects the company’s ongoing dedication to community and sports development. He stated that Dhiraagu views this partnership as part of its broader efforts to promote the Maldives as a destination for international sporting events.
Ahmed Karam, President of the Thoddoo Council, highlighted the tournament’s potential to position Thoddoo as a new hotspot for sports tourism. He noted that Dhiraagu’s continued support plays a vital role in promoting local tourism and driving national visibility for emerging communities like Thoddoo.
Adding to this, Ibrahim Latheef, Founder of Ihaa Table Tennis Academy, acknowledged the years of work that have gone into advancing the sport in the Maldives. He said Dhiraagu’s role as Digital Partner is instrumental in ensuring the tournament’s smooth execution and delivering a professional experience that could inspire a new generation of Maldivian athletes.
