Football Icon Jay-Jay Okocha to Visit Maldives in Ooredoo Partnership Event

Ooredoo Maldives is set to host Augustine Azuka “Jay-Jay” Okocha, the legendary former Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) star and Nigerian national team icon, for an official visit to the Maldives. The visit, scheduled from July 1st to 6th, 2024, is part of a strategic partnership between Ooredoo Maldives and PSG.

Ooredoo Maldives has planned several activities to capitalise on his visit, including a futsal contest where customers can win a chance to play alongside Okocha. Participants can enter the competition using the hashtag #PSGLegendinMV until 10th June 2024; five winners will be randomly selected.

Additionally, Ooredoo Maldives will host two PSG Academy training sessions for young footballers, featuring coaches from PSG Academy. 

A lucky draw will also be held, offering all Ooredoo customers the chance to win a trip to Laamu by upgrading or subscribing to new plans during the promotional period. The two winners will join Okocha for the Ooredoo Fun Run in Laamu Gan on 5th July 2024.

Augustine Azuka “Jay-Jay” Okocha is a Nigerian former professional footballer who is celebrated for his illustrious career as an attacking midfielder. Okocha represented the Nigeria national team, earning 73 caps between 1993 and 2006 and scoring 14 goals. He was a member of three FIFA World Cup squads, cementing his status as one of Africa’s greatest football players.
