GAGE Maldives has celebrated its 15th anniversary with a commemorative ceremony held at Barcelona Nasandhura Malé, highlighting its transformation from a boutique protective services provider into one of the most diversified safety and security firms in the country.
Founded on 21 July 2010 by former Police Commissioner Abdulla Riyaz, GAGE began with a singular focus: client protection. Fifteen years later, that mission has expanded into a broad suite of services that now includes industrial, marine, resort, and event security; fire safety and emergency services; cybersecurity; cash-in-transit; and a nationally recognised training programme.

The company’s milestone year is not only a celebration of longevity but also a reflection of continuous evolution. Just a year after its inception, GAGE launched the GAGE Training Institute in 2011, establishing a foundation for professional development in the safety sector. It was a move that underscored the company’s long-term commitment to building local expertise.
By 2015, GAGE expanded into fire prevention with the creation of its Fire Safety Division, followed by the opening of the GAGE Fire Safety Service Centre in 2016. That same year, the GAGE Store was introduced to provide access to uniforms and essential safety gear, while cash-in-transit services were added to meet growing client needs.
The shift towards integrated services continued in 2018, when IT security solutions were introduced, acknowledging the growing importance of digital threats and infrastructure protection.
From 2021 onwards, GAGE’s achievements began receiving wider recognition. The company earned its first GOLD 100 Award, followed by consecutive wins in 2022 and 2023, affirming its place among the Maldives’ top-performing companies. In 2022, GAGE also received ISO Certification, marking a new standard in operational excellence.

More recently, the company has further extended its reach. In 2024, GAGE was named the Leading Security and Fire Safety Provider in the Maldives, and in 2025, introduced several new offerings: marine security, health and safety services, remote security operations, and on-site fire extinguisher servicing. Perhaps most significantly, GAGE launched a Fire Training School in Th. Thimarafushi this year, with expansion plans already underway for a second institute in K. Thulusdhoo.
At the anniversary event, GAGE unveiled its refreshed brand identity and recognised over 45 team members with appreciation awards. Long service awards were presented to staff with 8–9 years of tenure, and special recognition awards were given to individuals who had made exceptional contributions.
Chairman Abdulla Riyaz, addressing the gathering, noted that the company’s growth has been powered by its people. Announcing that 10 percent of annual profits will now be shared with employees, Riyaz said this initiative is meant to ensure that staff benefit directly from the company’s ongoing success.
Fifteen years on, GAGE continues to evolve, driven by a blend of operational innovation, internal investment, and a steady commitment to quality. The company’s trajectory shows that building trust in safety and security isn’t just about presence, it’s about progress.
