Trans Maldivian Airways is a domestic Sea Plane Operator, operating a fleet of 52 DHC-6 Twin Otter Aircraft, connecting the many island destinations in the Maldives. TMA is considered to be the pioneer of the aviation industry in the Maldives and has served as the backbone of tourism infrastructure for over 25 years. In December 2017, TMA was acquired by Bain Capital Private Equity, a global private equity firm headquartered out of the US, in association with Tempus Group, Chinese tourism focused conglomerate from its previous shareholders led by Blackstone. Since its establishment in 1989, from being the oldest air services operator in the Maldives, TMA has grown to become the largest Seaplane Operator in the World.
PRODUCTS & SERVICES:
Services include: resorts transfers, transfer of passengers to and from contracted resorts; photo flights, the standard scenic photo flight package includes a 15-minute flyover starting and finishing at the airport; private charter, dedicated flights to and from any destination of preference, mainly for VIP customers. TMA has 1 VIP aircraft and 1 VIP air-conditioned aircraft. Moreover, passenger evacuation flights are provided upon requests for medical emergencies.
