
The Ministry of Tourism and Environment has announced a three-day hands-on training workshop aimed at strengthening the capacity of engineers, architects and other building sector professionals to apply energy efficiency principles in building design and construction in the Maldives.
According to the ministry, the workshop will focus on the Maldives Energy Efficiency Guideline for Buildings and provide participants with practical training on how the guideline can be implemented in real-world projects.
The programme will include an overview of the guideline’s requirements as well as hands-on sessions on building energy modelling. Participants will be trained to use the eQUEST energy modelling tool to assess building energy performance and identify potential opportunities for energy savings.
The workshop is being organised in collaboration with the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC). The ministry said the initiative is intended to strengthen the technical capacity of professionals working in the building sector.
The training will be held in Malé, although the exact dates and venue are yet to be announced. Registration is open until 30 March 2026 at 11:00 am, with limited seats available. Participants will be selected in the order registrations are received.
