Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has participated in the ‘Saafu Roadha’ programme, an initiative led by the Ministry of Cities, Local Government and Public Works and the Ministry of Dhivehi Language, Culture and Heritage. The programme aims to promote cleanliness and environmental responsibility in preparation for Ramadan.
As part of the initiative, more than 500 MACL employees from 16 different departments took part in a large-scale cleaning event at Hulhulé, ensuring a cleaner environment for both staff and passengers at Velana International Airport (VIA). The effort aligns with MACL’s green airport initiative, under which the company organises multiple cleaning events annually to maintain high standards of hygiene and sustainability at the country’s main airport.
The participation in ‘Saafu Roadha’ reflects MACL’s commitment to environmental stewardship and cultural values, reinforcing the tradition of preparing spaces ahead of Ramadan.
