Maldives and Palestine Sign MoU to Strengthen Anti-Corruption Cooperation

The Anti-Corruption Commission of the Maldives (ACC) and the Anti-Corruption Commission of Palestine have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation and intensify joint efforts in combating corruption.

The President of ACC, Adam Shamil, signed the MoU on behalf of the Maldives, while Dr. Raed Mahmoud Darziyada, Chairman of the Palestinian Anti-Corruption Commission, signed on behalf of their commission. The signing took place during the Saudi-Maldives International Forum on Integrity 2025.

Under the agreement, both commissions will collaborate in key areas, including joint anti-corruption initiatives, information and knowledge exchange, sharing best practices, conducting training programmes, and providing technical assistance. They will also participate in activities hosted by either party.

The Maldives has reaffirmed its strong support for the civilians of Gaza and Palestine amidst the ongoing conflict with Israel. Last month, the Maldivian government imposed a ban on the entry of Israeli passport holders into the country.
