
The Maldives and the Philippines have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Political Consultations between their respective foreign ministries, marking a new step in strengthening bilateral relations.
The agreement was signed yesterday on the sidelines of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. It aims to reinforce the longstanding ties of friendship between the two nations and establish a framework for cooperation that promotes their shared interests.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the MoU will serve as a platform to implement key understandings and agreements reached by both governments, while also enhancing exchanges and collaboration across various fields.
On behalf of the Government of Maldives, the MoU was signed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Abdulla Khaleel. Secretary for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines, Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro, signed on behalf of the Philippine government.
