Maldives Immigration to Offer Passport and Limited Visa Services During Holidays

Maldives Immigration has announced that it will continue providing passport services and limited visa support during the Hajj and Eid al-Adha holidays, from 5 to 9 June 2025. The public is advised to avoid last-minute passport renewals to prevent travel disruptions.

Passport applications can be submitted at any time through the Imuga portal, which operates 24/7. However, during the holiday period, queue numbers for passport services at offices in the Malé area will only be issued between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., and services will be closed on Eid al-Adha day, 6 June. For medical emergencies, assistance is available via 9555333.

Visa services will be limited to emergency cases involving foreigners who need to depart the Maldives during the holiday period. However, travellers may continue to submit sponsorship declarations through the Imuga portal. For urgent visa-related matters, the public may contact 9199153 (work visas) or 9199157 (permits).

The Enforcement and Compliance Division will offer services from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. throughout the holidays, excluding Hajj day and Eid al-Adha. Urgent matters can be reported to 7980408 or 9199320.

Malé’s Seaport Division will continue operations from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm, Saturday to Wednesday, and from 2:30 pm to 10:00 pm on Friday. The emergency contact number is 9199187.

Maldives Immigration has advised the public to plan ahead and ensure passports have a minimum of six months’ validity to avoid travel disruptions.
