Maldives has been a participant in the UAE’s Government Experience Exchange Programme (GEEP) for the past three years under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two governments. This initiative aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of Maldivian government employees, with a total of 128 officials, including senior civil servants, taking part in four training programmes.

The Vice President also attended the plenary session of the summit, which is themed ‘Shaping Future Governments.’ The annual event brings together global leaders, international organisations, and the private sector to foster collaboration and explore innovative solutions to governance challenges. The summit focuses on six key areas: governance and accountability, economic financing, climate resilience, human development, global health transformation, and emerging technologies.

During his visit, the Vice President is scheduled to deliver a statement at the Climate Change Forum, underscoring Maldives’ concerns and priorities regarding climate resilience and environmental sustainability. He is accompanied by a high-level government delegation.
