Maldives Police Begins Training Programs in India

The second batch of investigators and forensic officers has departed to India to partake in a 10-day Crime Scene Management training program at Gujarat Forensic Sciences University.

The training programs are being conducted in India as per the pledge of Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. Indian PM vowed to provide training for 100 Maldivian police officers during his state visit to Maldives last year.

The second batch consisting of 20-officers are set to begin their training next Monday. The officers met the Indian Ambassador to Maldives, Sunjay Sudhir on Wednesday.

The Commissioner of Police said that the trainings will bolster the capabilities in investigations.

The 20-officer first batch are already receiving training on fingerprint DNA are expected to complete the program this Friday.
