The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), in collaboration with the National Hotel and Guesthouse Association of Maldives (NHGAM), has reopened participation for the 11th Asian Tourism Fair (ATF) 2024. The event is set to take place in Dhaka, Bangladesh, from 19th to 21st September 2024 at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB).
The ATF is a premier platform for Pan-Asian tourism collaboration, bringing together a diverse range of stakeholders, including adventure tourism companies, airlines, amusement parks, hotels, and national tourism organisations. The decision to reopen participation aims to accommodate a broader audience interested in showcasing their offerings at this prestigious event.
This year’s ATF coincides with World Tourism Day, adding further excitement and prestige to the event. In addition to the core tourism trade exhibition, the fair will feature B2B sessions, B2C opportunities, seminars, workshops, skill development conventions, a cultural program, and a photo exhibition. A dedicated Community-Based Tourism Mart (CBT Mart) will highlight sustainable travel options.
MMPRC plans to actively participate in these side events to showcase the multifaceted Maldivian tourism industry. This marks Visit Maldives’ first participation in ATF, reflecting its dedication to strengthening its presence in Asian markets and fostering closer ties with tourism industry stakeholders. Previous editions of ATF have attracted representatives from countries such as Bangladesh, India, Nepal, and Bhutan, underscoring the event’s regional significance.
