Maldives Showcases its Diverse Tourism Offerings at PATA Travel Mart 2024

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), in collaboration with the Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO), highlighted the country’s diverse tourism offerings at the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Travel Mart 2024. The event, held from August 27-29 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok, Thailand, served as a platform to promote the unique features of the Maldives, including its distinctive geography, vibrant underwater marine life, and a wide range of accommodation options.

The Maldives’ delegation at PATA Travel Mart 2024 featured key representatives from MMPRC and MATATO, along with significant industry partners such as Dhigufaru Island Resort, Furaveri Maldives, Inner Maldives, Plumeria, Ryoko Maldives, Stone Hotels Maldives, Sun Siyam Travels, and Kaani Hotels & Resort. These participants showcased the variety of experiences the Maldives offers, from tranquil island retreats to exhilarating underwater adventures, reinforcing the nation’s reputation as a top global travel destination with something for every type of traveller.

The Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of MMPRC, Mr. Ibrahim Shiuree, emphasised the importance of participating in such events to strengthen the Maldives’ commitment to promoting its tourism assets. “With tourism being the largest economic industry in the Maldives, participation in this fair has helped us reinforce our commitment to promoting our tourism assets and engaging with international stakeholders to drive sustainable growth in the industry,” he stated.

The PATA Travel Mart 2024 also marked the 25th anniversary of the Pacific Asia Travel Association’s presence in Thailand. The event provided unmatched networking and business opportunities, featuring a one-day conference, a B2B Travel Mart, and various networking sessions. It is renowned as a platform where travel and tourism organisations can connect with key decision-makers, expand their networks, and establish new business partnerships.
