The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) is showcasing the Maldives’ luxury travel offerings at the International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM) Cannes 2024, held from 2–5 December at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès. The event serves as a premier platform for luxury travel professionals, bringing together travel advisors, luxury brands, and industry representatives from across the globe.
The Maldives’ participation includes a delegation of 12 representatives from seven leading companies in the tourism sector: Alila Kothaifaru Maldives, Amilla Fushi, Bliss Maldives Pvt Ltd, Finolhu Baa Atoll Maldives, JA Manafaru, The Nautilus Maldives, and Villa Resorts. The Maldives’ stand at the event features captivating displays of high-end resorts, luxury liveaboards, and the country’s renowned natural beauty.
MMPRC’s engagement at ILTM aims to strengthen the Maldives’ reputation as a top-tier luxury travel destination and attract affluent travellers. The initiative underscores the importance of the French market, which is the seventh-largest source market for the Maldives, with 1,664,648 French travellers recorded as of October 2024. To further enhance its visibility in France, MMPRC plans to conduct targeted campaigns such as the “Discover Maldives Webinar Series.”
This year, the Maldives was honoured at the World Travel Awards, securing titles as the World’s Leading Destination for the fifth consecutive year and the World’s Leading Green Destination for the first time. These achievements reflect the country’s strong standing in the global tourism industry and its appeal to high-end travellers.
MMPRC’s continued participation in events like ILTM Cannes highlights its commitment to promoting the Maldives as a luxury destination and elevating its tourism sector. By targeting key markets and engaging with industry leaders, the Maldives aims to attract more discerning travellers while reinforcing its position as a world-class travel destination.
