Maldivian, the national airline of the Maldives, has announced an increase in its flights to Trivandrum, India, in response to growing demand for the popular destination. Starting from 22nd July, the airline will operate flights between Malé and Trivandrum every Monday, bringing the total to five flights per week.
The new flight schedule includes services on Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Previously, Maldivian Airlines operated four weekly flights to Trivandrum. In addition to flights from Malé, the airline also operates services from Hanimaadhoo Airport to Trivandrum every Monday and Friday.
According to the airline, the decision to expand its flight schedule was driven by the increasing demand for travel to Trivandrum. This adjustment aims to provide passengers with more convenient travel options and accommodate the rising number of travellers seeking easy and frequent access to the destination.
Trivandrum, also known as Thiruvananthapuram, has long been a popular destination for Maldivians, particularly for those seeking medical treatment. The city’s advanced healthcare facilities and proximity make it a preferred choice for medical tourism.
Maldivian will utilise its Dash 8 aircraft for the flights to Trivandrum. The aircraft is well-suited for the route, ensuring a comfortable and efficient journey for passengers.
The increased flight frequency is expected to benefit a wide range of travellers, including those travelling for medical purposes, business, and leisure. With more flight options, passengers can enjoy greater flexibility in planning their trips, making it easier to find suitable travel times.
As Maldivian continues to expand its services, the airline remains committed to meeting the needs of its passengers and providing reliable, convenient travel options. The additional flights to Trivandrum are a testament to the airline’s dedication to enhancing connectivity and catering to the preferences of its customers.
