Maldivian, the national airline of the Maldives, has launched its latest initiative, the ‘Fly with a Smile’ campaign, in Fuvahmulah, featuring a series of events focused on environmental conservation, career development, and community engagement. The campaign, organised in collaboration with the Fuvahmulah Council, aims to promote a positive culture within the airline while making meaningful contributions to society.
As part of its Green Horizons Initiative, the first event took place on 25th February, with a tree-planting drive to enhance Fuvahmulah’s green spaces. Volunteers of all ages participated, supporting President Muizzu’s pledge to plant five million trees, reinforcing Maldivian’s commitment to sustainability.
On 26th February, the airline hosted a Career Guidance Session for Grade 10 students, offering insights from industry experts to help them navigate their future careers. The session aimed to equip students with the necessary knowledge to explore opportunities within aviation and other fields.
The final event of the campaign, held on 27th February, saw the return of ‘Maldivian Haveeree Ufaa’ at the iconic Fuvahmulah Thundi. In collaboration with the Fuvahmulah Council and the Women’s Development Committee, Maldivian took part in the island’s pre-Ramadan Maahifun tradition, bringing the community together in a celebration of cultural heritage.
Maldivian continues to expand its reach, operating a fleet of 25 aircraft and serving 16 domestic and multiple international destinations, including India and China. Through initiatives like ‘Fly with a Smile’, the airline aims to strengthen its role in the community while enhancing its service offerings.
