Maldivian Seaplane Expands Network with Thoddoo Route

The Maldivian Seaplane will introduce a new route to Thoddoo, enhancing air connectivity to the popular local island, with the inaugural flight scheduled for 12 February 2026.

The new service responds to growing travel demand and aligns with government efforts to improve connectivity between islands and support regional development, the company said. Improved air access is expected to benefit community mobility while boosting visitor activity and the local tourism sector.

Maldivian said lights on the Thoddoo route will operate twice weekly, on Thursdays and Saturdays. To mark the launch, Maldivian Seaplane is offering a promotional one-way fare of MVR 799 for local passengers, supporting greater access to air travel across the country.

Thoddoo’s guesthouse sector and local tourism offerings have been expanding. Maldivian noted that scheduled seaplane services are expected to boost local livelihoods, support guesthouse operators and small businesses, and drive tourism-related economic activity.
