Maldivian, the national airline of the Maldives, has officially launched the first edition of its new in-flight magazine Aerial Isles at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2025 in Dubai. The launch event took place at the Visit Maldives stand and was officiated by Mr Ibrahim Shiuree, CEO and Managing Director of the Maldives Marketing and PR Corporation (MMPRC).
The magazine is a collaborative initiative between Maldivian and the Open Sky Group, which serves as the appointed publisher. Also in attendance at the launch were Ms Shahuzan Abdulla, General Manager of Maldivian, and Ms Aishath Shiuna Rasheed, Senior Sales Manager. Representing Open Sky Group was its Managing Director, Mr Hussain Shiham.
Aerial Isles aims to spotlight the Maldives’ culture, landscapes, and travel experiences through engaging articles, interviews, and destination insights. While the magazine will primarily feature English-language content, it will also include selected articles in Dhivehi and Chinese to cater to a broader audience.
Speaking at the launch, the airline highlighted that the magazine will serve not only as an informational resource about Maldivian and its destinations but also as an entertainment offering for travellers. The publication will be available on all Maldivian flights, in airport lounges, and at select resorts across the country.
The magazine will be published three times a year, with each edition offering a curated look at the stories, culture, and hospitality that define the Maldives. According to Maldivian, this move is part of its broader commitment to elevate the travel experience and deepen cultural appreciation among passengers.
Open Sky Group, formerly Blinx Media, was established in 2011 and rebranded in 2024. The company brings more than a decade of experience in branding, publishing, and content creation.
