Ministry of Economic Development and Ministry of Islamic Affairs have signed an MoU and partnered to launch “Zakaath Nafaa” Programme – a programme to provide financial support.
This programme is for people on the register of the poor compiled by the Islamic Ministry. Under the programme, financial support will be provided to a specific number of people through the Zakaath Fund, with the aim of facilitating ways to earn incomes and build a self-sufficient society.
Additionally, people registered will receive financial support to enable them to earn an income by starting their own businesses while encouraging them to live a life of respect and promote the contribution of individual citizens towards the development of the local economy.
The five-year programme is desgined to support areas of national development and self-sufficiency, and will facilitate opportunities for housing, poultry farming, hydroponics, reef fishing, tailoring, training, on-the-job training, and apprenticeship.
