A delegation from the Republic of Maldives chaired by Dr. Shah Abdulla Mahir, Minister of State for Health has signed in an agreement with the Government of Cuba for the expansion of medical collaboration between the two countries.
Minister Mahir was received by Dr. José Angel Portal Miranda, Minister of Public Health, on which occasion the Cooperation Agreement was signed.
During their stay in Cuba, the Maldivian delegation carried out an extensive program in Havana, that included visits to the Hermanos Ameijeiras hospital, the “La Pradera” International Health Center, the UCCM (Central Medical Cooperation Unit), the CECMED (Regulatory Authority for Medicines, Equipment and Medical Devices, the “19 de Abril” Polyclinic and the Playa Municipality Mental Health Center.
The signed agreement provides the dispatch of a medical brigade to the Maldives.
The Maldives delegation was also joined by Safiyya Mohamed, Deputy Minister of Health.
