Government’s taxation authority, Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has generated a record number in revenue during the month of July compared to the past seven years.
According to the company’s statistics, MIRA received over USD 135 million in July which is attributed to 43.9% of Business Profit Tax (BPT). Moreover, 24.4% of the revenue was generated from Goods and Services Tax (GST).
MIRA revealed the increment is due to the deadline of BPT payments falling on the month.
