The Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has urged the public to make payments using the authority’s online portals, as service hours were adjusted for Ramadan.
Starting from the onset of Ramadan through the first seven days of Shawwal, MIRA’s Taxpayer Service Centre will operate from Sunday to Thursday.
The centre will issue token numbers for service requests between 09:00 am and 12:00 pm.
Token numbers can be obtained from the Taxpayer Service Centre as well as MIRA’s mobile application and the Queue Bee application.
During these designated days, MIRA will provide assistance through various channels, including its hotline number 1415, website, live chat service, and Viber number 9821415, all available from 09:00 am to 01:00 pm. The authority’s website is https://mira.gov.mv/
In a circular released today, MIRA highlighted that the authority’s offices were closed to the public during the last ten days of Ramadan. Despite this closure, online services were available for essential transactions, said MIRA.
As such, MIRA reminds taxpayers that the deadline for tourism land rent payment remains unchanged, set for March 31st.
To streamline processes and enhance accessibility, MIRA encourages taxpayers to utilize online platforms for all services, including tax return submissions and payments.
