Crown & Champa Resorts (CCR) has announced the promotion of Mohamed Solah to Chief Executive Officer, marking a significant milestone in his career. Solah’s journey from an entry-level position in hospitality to leading one of the Maldives’ premier resort portfolios reflects dedication, skill, and CCR’s commitment to fostering Maldivian talent. With over two decades of experience in both local and international markets, Solah is set to lead CCR with a focus on excellence and forward-thinking initiatives.
Solah’s career path has been characterised by steady progression through roles such as Front Office Manager and Executive Housekeeper, equipping him with an in-depth understanding of resort operations. His leadership at Komandoo Maldives brought the resort significant recognition, including Tripadvisor’s “Best of the Best” award, placing it among the top 1% of hotels globally. Reflecting on his career, Solah credited his success to perseverance and CCR’s support, saying, “This milestone proves that with dedication, skill, and support, anyone can reach new heights in their career. In his role as CEO, Solah will oversee key projects, including the anticipated reopening of Veligandu Maldives Resort Island and an extensive renovation of Innahura Maldives Resort. These initiatives underscore CCR’s dedication to enhancing the guest experience while maintaining its reputation for luxury. Solah’s approach emphasises operational efficiency, inter-departmental collaboration, and sustainable practices, supporting CCR’s commitment to delivering world-class service.
Educationally, Solah brings a Bachelor of Honours from Taylor’s University in Malaysia, an Executive MBA from the University of Bedfordshire, and training from the General Managers Program at Cornell University. His career includes international roles, such as Cluster General Manager for Zaya Hospitality in Abu Dhabi, enhancing his cross-cultural management abilities.
