Morocco has officially established an Honorary Consulate in the Maldives.
The Honorary Consulate of Morocco in the Maldives was officially inaugurated on 18th July. The Moroccan flag at the consulate was officially hoisted for the first time by Foreign Secretary of the Maldives Ahmed Latheef.
The inauguration ceremony was also attended by the Ambassador of Morocco to the Maldives Mohamed Maliki, and the Honorary Consul of Morocco in the Maldives Ahmed Nashid, and senior officials of the Foreign Ministry.
Morocco and the Maldives established diplomatic ties on February 4, 1988.
