Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has introduced internship programs targeted at high school students in grades 9 to 12. The programs aim to provide students with insights into the working environment and help them develop practical skills.
Program Details:
Duration: 6 hours per day (24th Dec 2023 – 4th Jan 2024)
Available Areas and Slots:
1 Slot:
- Graphic Design
- Copywriting
- Civil Engineering/Surveying
- Architectural Drafting
2 Slots:
- Marine Section: Engine Repair and Maintenance
- Machine Shop: Fabrication of Brass Impeller
- Carpentry
- Power Generation and Distribution: Electric and Electronic
- HVAC and Electrical Services: Electric and Electronic
Elements of the Program:
- Each student will be assigned a mentor for basic knowledge and skills development in their preferred area.
- Classroom training will cover Business Writing, MS Office (Word, Excel, PPT), Communication, First Aid, and Fire Fighting.
- A Career Guidance session will include resume writing, mock interviews, and an opportunity to meet MPL’s CEO and executives for insights into their leadership experiences.
