Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has provided updates on six infrastructure development projects.
Firstly, MTCC has commenced sub-base works for Ha. Hoarafushi Road Construction Project, on 13th July 2022. ABC and asphalt materials have been delivered to the project site.
The scope of the project includes construction of 11 roads measuring 5.3km in length, construction of a 25,909 sqm carriageway, installation of 11,114sqm pavement, installation of stormwater infiltration system, streetlights and road markings. The value of the project is MVR 71.9 million.
Furthermore, the third shipment of precast concrete blocks required for quay wall construction of L. Gan-Thundi Harbor have been delivered to the project site. Block installation works are ongoing, with 63% completion.
Scope of works include construction of a 360m breakwater, a 310m quay wall, a 2501 sqm harbor pavement, a bridge and installation of streetlights. The value of the project is MVR 24.71million.
The second shipment of rock boulders required for Lh. Hinnavaru Harbor Development Project, have also been delivered to the project site. Construction of revetment and groyne are ongoing at site.
Scope of works for the project include reclamation operations of 3.2 hectare; dredging operations of 65,170.76cbm; construction of a 421m quay wall; a 123.9m breakwater; a 170.55m revetment. The value of the project is MVR 99.52 million.
Additionally, work on the design and build of S. Hulhudhoo Harbor Development Project is well underway, with overall 88% project progress. MTCC has completed installation of harbor pavement and streetlights. First shipment of rock boulders have been delivered to project site.
The S. Hulhudhoo Harbour project consists of dredging and excavation operations of 88,623cbm; construction of a 114m breakwater; a 624m revetment; a 742m quay wall; 2,250 sqm of paved area and installation of streetlights. The value of the project is MVR 66.3 million.
Work on design and build of Sh. Lhaimagu Harbor Development Project is well underway as well, with overall 50% project progress. Second shipment of rock boulders have been delivered to the project site on 14th July 2022.
Sh. Lhaimagu Harbour project consists of dredging and excavation operations of 31,000cbm; construction of a 350m breakwater; a 276m quay wall; a 500m revetment; installation of 1,380sqm pavement, installation of navigation lights and streetlights. The value of the project is MVR 56.3 million.
Lastly, the first shipment of rock boulders required for Ga. Dhaandhoo Harbor Development Project have been delivered to the project site.
Scope of works involve, 52,099cbm of harbor dredging operations, 4953cbm of channel dredging operations, construction of a 30m groyne, a 333m breakwater, a 170m revetment, a 529m quay wall, installation of 1203sqm of harbor pavement. The value of the project is MVR 70.8 million.
