Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has completed and commissioned the water and sewerage system in B. Maalhos.
This development was marked by a visit from representatives of the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, alongside delegates from FENAKA and MWSC.
Central to this initiative is a newly-constructed facility building in Maalhos, designed to accommodate the water plant. This project also entailed the establishment of the main water pipeline network, connecting water and sewerage lines directly to the residences of B. Maalhos.
Further enhancements to the island’s infrastructure include the installation of water storage tanks, the drilling of boreholes, and the setup of a pumping station. Sea outflow and reject lines have also been incorporated into the system.
To ensure the quality of the water supply, water testing equipment will be made available as part of the project’s deliverables.
Funded at MVR 60.45 million, the B. Maalhos water and sanitation project was awarded to MWSC by the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure.
