New Direct Flight from Hanimaadhoo to Bangalore to Begin on 15th May

National airline Maldivian will commence a new direct route between Hanimaadhoo and Bangalore on 15th May 2025, introducing a more accessible travel option for residents of the northern atolls.

The new route aims to offer greater convenience for travellers who have historically had to transit through Male’ or other points to reach Bangalore. With this direct connection, passengers in the north can now avoid additional domestic flights, reducing both travel time and overall costs.

Maldivian has announced that return fares for locals will start at USD 299, positioning the route as an affordable option for those seeking access to Bangalore’s well-known healthcare institutions, shopping destinations, educational facilities, and business hubs. Bangalore has long been a popular city among Maldivians, particularly for medical treatment and higher education.

The airline stated that this development is especially relevant for families, students, and patients based in the north who previously faced logistical challenges in reaching the Indian city. The direct service is expected to streamline travel, improve regional connectivity, and support the broader goal of enhancing transport infrastructure across the Maldives.

Tickets for the new Hanimaadhoo-Bangalore service are now available through Maldivian’s official website, mobile application, and approved ticketing agents.

The launch is part of the airline’s continued efforts to expand its international network and provide more efficient travel options for Maldivians.
