Nominations for the South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) 2025 are now officially open, inviting hospitality and travel businesses across the region to participate in the prestigious annual event. Since its inception in 2016, SATA has celebrated excellence in the tourism sector, recognising outstanding contributions from organisations and individuals in Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, and India.
Over the years, SATA has set a high standard for travel and tourism accolades in South Asia. It has received endorsements from 15 international and government agencies, further cementing its credibility within the industry. These include the Maldives Marketing & PR Corporation (MMPRC), the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), the Association of Travel Agents (ATA), and the Sri Lanka Association of Inbound Tour Operators (SLAITO), among others.
Marking its ninth edition, the SATA 2025 ceremony will take place in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Previous editions have been hosted at esteemed venues across the region, including Aloft Kathmandu Thamel in Nepal (2024), Sheraton Grand Bangalore at Brigade Gateway in India (2023), and Amari Galle in Sri Lanka (2019).
Each year, a panel of expert judges and industry professionals selects winners across a range of categories, including South Asia’s Best New Hotel, Leading Riverfront Hotel, Leading Palace Hotel, and Leading Designer Hotel. The awards ceremony is a key event on the regional tourism calendar, bringing together top executives, industry leaders, and travel enthusiasts for a night of recognition and networking.
Beyond celebrating excellence, SATA serves as a platform for industry stakeholders to engage, exchange insights, and explore emerging trends in the travel and tourism sector.
Nominations for SATA 2025 are open until 15 March 2025, and interested properties can submit their entries online via SATA’s official website.
