Ooredoo Maldives has announced a new promotion through its digital wallet service m-Faisaa, allowing users to send international money transfers without paying any service fees. The zero-fee offer, introduced in collaboration with global remittance provider MoneyGram, is available from 1st May to 31st July 2025.
The offer enables users to send funds to over 200 countries and territories using a range of delivery options including cash pickup, direct bank deposits, mobile wallet transfers, and even home delivery in select destinations. The promotion is expected to appeal to individuals supporting family members abroad as well as businesses making cross-border payments.
Transfers can be initiated through the m-Faisaa service on the Ooredoo App after depositing funds in US dollars at an m-Faisaa agent. Users can then choose the destination, amount, and preferred method for the recipient to receive funds. Transactions can be tracked directly from the app, offering added transparency and ease of use.
According to the company, the service is designed for speed and flexibility. Instant cash pickups can be completed in as little as 10 minutes, while larger transfers are facilitated by a tiered wallet structure. Gold Wallet users can send up to USD 10,000 per day in up to five transactions, while Silver Wallet users can send up to USD 3,000 across ten daily transactions.
Ooredoo highlighted its partnership with MoneyGram as a key enabler of this service, pointing to the latter’s global infrastructure and API-driven platform as essential to providing secure and efficient transfers.
The launch reflects Ooredoo Maldives’ broader goal of enhancing digital inclusion and financial accessibility across the country. The company has positioned m-Faisaa as a reliable tool for daily financial needs, from mobile top-ups to utility payments, and now, fee-free international transfers.
